Gary Terblanche
Gary grew up in Tokai, Cape Town, surrounded by forests and vineyards where his love for nature began. He matriculated at Rondebosch Boys High School in 1982 during this time he was an avid Three Phase (horse cross country, dressage and show jumping) competitor competing in local competitions and winning a few.
After school Gary headed off to UCT where he began studying for a B.Com till he realised in his third year that this was not for him and left for his military service. Gary strived for success and went off to Infantry School qualifying as a platoon commander (lieutenant) which then got him into Berede (equestrian mounted patrol) where he was acting company commander for the balance of his two years in Soweto. Gary then joined the commando’s and did an additional 10 years’ service due to his willingness to give back to society.
Gary has been in the property industry since 1987 gaining experience initially in timeshare which took him into residential sales and he reached his ultimate goal in being able to market farms once he joined Agrisell. Gary lives with his wife Sarah in Somerset West on a smallholding where they run a small guesthouse called Tuckaway which gives him a lot of experience in the hospitality field which helps when advising farm owners on additional ways to generate a relatively easy additional income during the quiet times in farming activities.
Jannie Fourie, the Agrisell principle and owner, approached Gary to take over the commercial and industrial division for the company and seeing that Gary has fairly substantial experience in the field, the challenge was gratefully accepted and is now moving along very nicely although not leaving his love of agricultural sales behind with the two being his chosen responsibilities.
In his spare time, he loves taking his Land Rover Discovery out into the wilderness with their 4 wheel drive club and unwinding on winding axle twisters and then spending time around the camp fire with a beer in one hand, tongs in the other with some good meat for the standard braai. Good company makes the getaway even better of course.
Gary strives to give the best possible service to all clients and will go the extra mile to assist wherever he can.
