Margaret Louw
I was born in Victoria-West and grew up in the Northern-Cape, calling Vaalharts home for 18 years.
After university at Pretoria and Stellenbosch, a five-year stint as a teacher-librarian was followed by a career as a translator at Parliament. My late husband then bought a law firm in Robertson, and I took up freelance editing and translating while raising Adriana and NS, and being involved in the community as a volunteer in social welfare and the arts.
A call for help from a friend in the horse industry, led to becoming the financial manager at a thoroughbred horse breeding farm. My job included organising of marketing events and drafting presentations on farm acquisitions. All of those, combined with my daily exposure to the challenges of farming, unknowingly prepared me for what was to follow in the world of property sales.
Always on the go, retirement in 2021 was just a transition to reconnect with the community, see more of my friends and family, and do more freelance work.
When I was offered the opportunity to join Agrisell for the Langeberg region, I did not hesitate. I've known the Fourie family for many years, and feel privileged to be involved in this company.
It has dawned on me that Agrisell is an extension of my skillset, acquired over many years, to connect, analyse, organise, and entertain, while I learn more about the intricacies of the property industry every day. I absolutely love the challenge of living up to the trust put in me.
I have an inborn sense of urgency, thrive on meeting and entertaining people, enjoy classical and jazz music, read avidly, walk in the hills whenever I can, and share an interest in wine with many friends.
