NAMPO 2017 - After effects
The 51st NAMPO Harvest Day was presented from 16 to 19 May 2017 outside Bothaville, in the freezing Free State.
AGRISELL was involved in all its glory by operating an information exhibition stall; as well as been the main sponsor of the daily Women’s Programme. “After a two-year absence, the women's program was back with a bang at the Harvest Day, with a new sponsor, location and format providing for excellent attendance,” according to Jannie Fourie, principal of AGRISELL. Many celebs like Elma Postma (presenter of Plaaskombuis), Lizz Meiring (Lizz was Lizz om `n plaas te koop!), Arina de Villiers (Landbouweekblad`s food editor) and Isabel Barends of VIA TV took part in the Women`s Programme.
“A record 78,648 visitors enjoyed the warm-hearted atmosphere and yearned for information on how the agricultural industry can assist to unfold the future,” said Jannie de Villiers, Chief Executive Officer of Grain SA.
The organisers of this event want to ensure that it is the agricultural sectors most relevant platform and market place for innovation, technology and information showcase. NAMPO's main objective is to connect farmers and suppliers, but the importance of networking and the forming of partnerships and relations is a key factor, without which the agricultural industry cannot survive.
All known sectors of the agricultural input suppliers were represented and the visitors’ positivity was inspiring and many of the more than 700 exhibitors reported that their businesses benefited greatly. AGRISELL was on the contrary no exception.
The NAMPO Harvest Day therefore offers something to everyone in agriculture: from a 1ha farmer to a mega producer, with emphasis on innovation, new technology, value adding and sustainability,” said Cobus van Coller, Harvest Day Committee Chairman.
This year's Nation in Conversation panel discussions importantly concluded that the title deeds which still remain in government’s hands is a major point of challenge for progressing with land reform. Furthermore, the importance of networking and the forming of partnerships and relations is a key factor, without which the agricultural industry cannot survive.
AGRISELL eye-catching exhibition was well exposed and experienced a large number of visitors – either sellers or buyers of farms throughout the country. Even the President of AGRI SA, Johannes Moller as well as Jannie de Villiers, Chief Executive Officer of Grain SA visited AGRISELL`s exhibition.
“Many thanks to AGRISELL`s agents, Marisa Bosman, Sakkie Nel, Wiehan Pietersen and Jaco Brits for their contribution and efforts to make AGRISELL`s participation a worthwhile experience and exposure!” accolades Jannie Fourie.
