The first NAMPO CAPE harvest day was presented from 12-14 September 2018 outside Bredasdorp, in the colourful Overberg boasting with lush wheat and bright yellow canola fields.

The attendance achieved during the 2018 Nampo Cape of 16,450 enjoyed the warm-hearted atmosphere. The feedback from the exhibitors were that they mainly did good business which testify to the relevancy of the agricultural sector in the Western Cape. Innovative machinery, enormous tractors, various products and services were on display and visitors browsed happily through 240 exhibition stalls.

The growing intent of potential farmers and commercial farmers wanting to buy a farm, is encouraging and it proves that agriculture in the Western Cape is still alive and well according to Mr Jannie Fourie, principal of AGRISELL. Furthermore, farming tips and sustainable agricultural practices were showcased, helping farmers to improve farming methods. Farming for the future will have to provide food for more people using less water and less land.

As at NAMPO Bothaville, AGRISELL was involved in all its glory by operating an information exhibition stand. Even the CEO of Grain SA, Mr. Jannie de Villiers and his inspirational wife Retha visited AGRISELL`s exhibition. Aside from the AGRISELL stand, AGRISELL was also the main sponsor of the daily and well-attended AGRISELL WOMENS PROGRAM featuring performances by the pianist Pedro Kruger and The New Chalk of the Town namely Tjhoko-paint, demonstrated with flying colours by the fabulous Nadine Vosloo. Carmen Niehaus showed-off her cooking skills while Theuns Duvenage encouraged the ladies to debone the legs of lamb with love and tender. The stellar feedback received from all the ladies attending our program proves that we have more to offer than just property expertise!

The ever-popular Nation in Conversation-forum, an integral part of each NAMPO event, were also at NAMPO CAPE and aimed to focus on insightful conversations and topics for the producer and the agriculture challenges of today.

The flower exhibitors, called the Overberg Indigenous Showcase showed the unique flora of the Overberg and Cape region. The Erica recurvatea critically endangered species was also on display.  It definitely makes the exhibition special and genuine to the Cape.

Many thanks top AGRISELL`s agents Marisa Bosman, Wilma and Nick Taljaard for their knowledgeable contributions and efforts to make AGRISELL`s participation a worthwhile experience.
