HISTORY
While the area experienced low levels of conflict during the Second Boer War (1899 – 1902) there is a known high viewpoint on the property from where the British troops (Khaki`s) spied the area. Water was conveniently available nearby from a fountain.

VEGETATION
The vegetation is diverse. Grazing consists of typical Karoo veldt with shrubs, trees, dense thicket, grasses, and succulents which flourish after good rains. Until recently, the farm was still farmed with Merino sheep. The owner received in consecutive years the accolade as the best-preserved veldt in the district. The carrying capacity of the veld is 32 hectares per livestock unit (LSU) or 5.3 hectares per small livestock unit (SSU). Rainfall in the higher mountainous areas is higher than 200mm per annum in the lower flatland of die Karoo regions.

ROAMING GAME
Indigenous kudu and small antelope like steenbok, klipspringer and duiker roam the entire farm. Oryx, Giraffe, Zebra and a variety of game species will strive on this farm. Currently, wildlife from the remote mountainous areas constantly visits the water troughs on the property. Nocturnal night life is spectacular, and a motion detector camera will constantly capture images of the visiting game and nocturnal movements.

INFRASTRUCTURE
The perimeter fence is jackal-proof on 3 boundaries. The northern boundary is stock proof. For efficient livestock veldt utilization, the farm is subdivided into 5 inner camps. Drinking water is obtained from 2 windmills and stored in plastic tanks, and also water from adjacent farms by mutual agreement with the neighbor, as well as out of several perennial springs. During severe droughts none of the boreholes or springs dried up. There are no buildings on the property.
