MARBLE HALL: Well established cash crop & livestock farm

Gruysbank is an 838.99-hectare cash crop farm located 15 kilometers outside the town of Marble Hall on the R573. This well-established operation boasts a significant portion of its land dedicated to intensive cultivation, supported by robust irrigation infrastructure, while also maintaining a substantial area of natural veld.

A key asset of Gruysbank is its irrigation system, covering a total of 105 hectares under centre pivot irrigation, optimizing water distribution and crop growth. The farm benefits from a substantial water allocation of 51.4 hectares from the Elands river, with access managed by the Trans Eland Irrigation Board, ensuring a reliable water supply for its diverse cropping needs. The water are transferred from the river to a storage dam from where it is distributed to the respective pivots.

While a significant portion of Gruysbank is dedicated to irrigated cash crops, 734 hectares consist of natural veld. This dual land use offers potential for various farming activities, including livestock grazing in conjunction with crop rotation, or serves as a valuable ecological buffer. There is a 368m² shed on the farm which comprise of a steel portal frame and brick infill. The farm is fenced off with a 2m high game fence and several smaller enclosures where cattle can be kept.
