MARBLE HALL: Well established cash crop & livestock farm with 2m game fence

Elandsdrift is a 635-hectare agricultural property located approximately 10 kilometres outside the town of Marble Hall. The primary access route to the farm from Marble Hall is via the N11/R33. The farm is primarily dedicated to cash crop production, supported by a significant irrigation infrastructure and established water rights. The Marble Hall area is South Africa’s second largest irrigation settlement. The immediate surroundings comprise of commercial farms.

Of the total 635 hectares, 148,95 hectares are under center pivot irrigation, providing efficient and controlled water delivery for crops. The remaining 486 hectares consist of grazing, offering potential for various agricultural uses, including livestock. The farm is fenced off with a 2m high game fence.

Water for the farm is sourced from the Elands river, with the supply regulated by the Trans Elands Irrigation Board. Elandsdrift holds 51.4 hectares of registered water rights, ensuring a consistent and legally secured water supply for its irrigated areas. Water from the river are transferred to a storage dam from where each pivot can be separately irrigated.

Marble Hall and the surrounding area has fairly minimal rainfall throughout the year with an average rainfall of 470mm per year. The average temperature for the area during the summer is approximately 24,8ºC and the average temperature during the winter is approximately 13,7ºC.

Historically, Elandsdrift has demonstrated its versatility and productivity by successfully cultivating a diverse range of crops. Previous harvests include maize, cotton, potatoes, soybeans and various other vegetables and cash crops, highlighting the farm's suitability for different crop rotations and agricultural strategies.
