Unique mixed farm opportunity in Prince Albert Rural, Leeu-Gamka
The area is well known for its good quality lucerne and onion seed production. The soil is mainly sandy loam. The outfield is suited for sheep, goat, game and cattle. Kudu roam freely in great numbers. The outfield is divided into inner camps, each camp with one or more water hole for the animals. The water is supplied via borehole fitted with either windmill or solar pump with a reservoir. Only a small distance of the border fence is not game proof. All the camps are easily accessible and most of the camps have a kraal to work the animals. The Saai River is a seasonal river, and it runs over most of the outfield. This riverbed allows for plenty of free roaming kudu and grazing for cattle.
The farm is registered with the Leeu – Gamka Irrigation board and has water rights for 92,5Ha per annum. This is 555,000 cubic meters per annum. There are 7 dams on the farm used for water storage, the capacity of these dams are 165,250 cubic meters. The infrastructure and layout of the farm is effective and well planned. Water from the water scheme is fed into 3 dams along the arable land via a water ditch. Water from the other dams can also be used to feed these 3 dams. There are 23 boreholes for irrigation, the capacity of these boreholes has been tested, they are working and well maintained. Full summary of the boreholes and dams available on request.

The farm has excellent infrastructure to combine lucerne, onion seed production and livestock. The 46 feeding lots allows to move livestock closer to home during lambing season to ensure higher weaning percentages with easy and effective management.
