Kalahari farm for sale near Noenieput,Upington.
Noenieput is a small town in the Kalahari Desert in ZF Mgcawu District Municipality in the Northern Cape province of South Africa. The town is located approximately 14 kilometers east of the South African border with Namibia and about 175 km North-west of Upington.
The featured farm consists of 2 title deeds sold as a unit. The farm of 7 748ha is about 8km north of Noenieput and borders the Namibian border.
Part A
This part of the farm is 3288,63 ha and is sub-divided into 15 manageable camps all with access to water. This piece (LSU1:32) is the part closest to Noenieput and consists of mostly softer sandy soil and dunes with some harder bushy areas. Typical savanna grasses include Schmidtia, Stipagrostis, Aristida, and Eragrostis; these are interspersed with trees such as camelthorn (Acacia erioloba), grey camelthorn (Acacia haematoxylon), and blackthorn (Acacia mellifera). Parkinsonia Africana (Green-hair tree/ Lemoendoring) is spread across the area and creates this picturesque Kalahari landscape in combination with the red sand dunes. Towards the western side is a cluster of red sandy dunes that present the most beautiful sunsets with a hunter's hut nestled into one of the big dunes. This hut has a distinctive Kalahari look to it with an open braai area and an indoor space with a kitchen. Outside the cabin are 2 x showers and 2 x flush toilets with their distinct plastic tank look. It is something unique and a must-do experience. One can just imagine all the untold stories buried here in the grass and sand. The dune ridge continues north towards the Namibian border and Part B of the farm.
Part B
This area is 4459.4313 ha (LSU 1:32) and is subdivided into another 16 manageable camps with water. The vegetation is mostly the same as in Part A with the eastern side a bit harder soil. Springbuck and Kudu roam this area freely to create a unique setting associated with the Kalahari. The homestead is located on this part of the farm with a solar system.
Infra-structure
Water to the whole farm is provided via 3 boreholes (about 30m). The 1 windmill and solar pumps distribute the water across the farm to most areas. The owner is currently in the process of negotiating pipeline water to the farm which will enhance the water distribution dramatically to all areas on the farm. This water point should be available very soon. All sheep handling facilities are in decent condition as well as the border fencing. The property has jackal-proof fencing mostly with a short border to the north that is 8-wired stock-proof (+- 12km). A jackal-proof fence divides the farm into 2 parts to help with effective predator control.
Homestead.
The homestead is on the northeastern border and is located on one corner of the farm. Here is a 4 bedroom house with solar power and shed. Access to the homestead is easy and close to the main gravel road.
The farm can be bought as a going concern if it's the buyer's preference.
