Infrastructure
The shade-net structures were erected in 2023 and currently cover 2.4 hectares on a sought-after farm where a total of 4 hectares is leased for the operation.
The entire 4-hectare area is securely fenced and electrified, providing excellent security for the business.
A covered work area has been established for sorting and packing operations.
The farming enterprise is allocated 12,000 m³ of irrigation water annually.
Production
The production cycle begins with the mechanical preparation of the soil and formation of planting ridges. Bell pepper seedlings are planted annually during September and October.
The first harvest commences in December, after which harvesting and marketing continue on a monthly basis through to July.
Seedlings are purchased from reputable suppliers and planted directly into the soil. Various bell pepper cultivars are selected and planted according to market demand and production preferences.
Fertigation irrigation is supplied through drip systems and is currently operated manually. Irrigation water is sourced from a nearby earth dam, stored in a 5,000-litre tank, and pumped into the irrigation network as required.
Following harvest, the produce is packed into branded 5 kg cartons and supplied to the Epping Fresh Produce Market. Product pricing fluctuates according to market supply and demand, with an average expected selling price of approximately R100 per 5 kg carton.
Under favourable growing conditions, the enterprise produces approximately 50,000 cartons (5 kg each) per season.

Management
The entire production and packing process is managed by an experienced foreman and eight permanent female employees.
Additional seasonal workers are employed during peak periods and for labour-intensive tasks where required.
The foreman assumes full responsibility for all farming activities, including planting, irrigation, maintenance, harvesting, packing, and transportation to market.
Comprehensive production, income, and expenditure data are supplied regularly to the owner, ensuring continuous oversight of business performance.
As a result, a purchaser is not required to be actively involved in the day-to-day operation of the business, making this an attractive investment opportunity for both active and passive investors.
Purchase Options
The following acquisition options are available:
• 50% company share: Purchase price R1,250,000 plus approximately R400,000 working capital contribution.
• 100% company share: Purchase price R2,5000,000 plus approximately R800,000 working capital.
• 100% Ownership: Purchase only the business operations and assets: R2,150,000
Estimated working capital required to establish the next production season is approximately R800,000. Under the partnership option, this capital requirement may be shared equally between the partners. The parties may agree on a shareholding percentage of between 50% and 100%, with costs and profits being shared accordingly.
Sale Structure
The business is sold as a going concern and may qualify for a zero-rated VAT transaction, provided the purchaser is registered as a VAT vendor.
The seller is prepared to offer the sale either as an asset transaction or through the acquisition of the existing company, providing flexibility to suit the purchaser's preferred ownership and tax structure. The existing operating company may be acquired, allowing the purchaser to benefit from an established business structure, operational history and continuity of operations.
